One of the most difficult issues to address within the firms who attempted information mastery was dealing with a question of information and its strategic role within the firm.  For a century, firms have dealt with information as an administrative requirement for the successful operation of the firm.  Now, the renegades are asking the same firm to make a radical change and how the firm as a whole views and addresses the strategic value and implications of the firm's information.  This issue of viewing information differently from a strategic perspective is probably one of the most difficult things to change in the short term.  In addition, the tactical information initiatives where employees employ the latest buzzwords play havoc with perceptions of real systemic change.
